Free camping will be available at Mount Majura Winery, via Lime Kiln Road from Friday midday through to Monday morning. During the event, access will be through the second gate to keep us away from their weekend cellar sales traffic.
We’ll have toilets on site, a large generator to cover all your electrical needs (including microwaves if you bring those) but no showers. You’ll also find Big W, Woolworths, ALDI and Costco down the road at the Majura Park Shops.
NO fires are to be lit by competitors. Sealed gas heaters (the big “mushroom” style) are allowed in all campsite areas, as well as cooking stoves etc. However if there is high fire danger any direction must be adhered to.
Garbage bags will be provided to the event competitors and we ask that you guys keep the village and camping zones clean and take rubbish with you. Please take the time to remove your rubbish. Dumping of carb/gel packs on the trackside as opposed to tucking them in your attire somewhere will be frowned upon.
But to be clear this one is pretty simple:
- Bought it in with you – take it out with you.
- Littering intentionally leads to disqualification.
Drinking water will be available from tanks within the race village.
There will also be a food van providing hot food and coffee during the event. Here’s the Coffee will set up Friday afternoon for coffee and drinks and be on site all weekend with food and drinks.
Pets are not permitted within any part of the property. There is no exception. It is not that we don’t like them, we don’t want them running under bike wheels.
Canberra has a wide range of accommodation available, with 16,000 hotel beds. Budget accommodation is also available within 15 minutes drive of the venue. Further details and reservations can be obtained from Visit Canberra.
Venue contingency – Majura suffers poorly with rain and with trees falling. Should this occur in the lead up to the event (as it did last year), the event will be moved to Stromlo Forest Park. No refunds will be given should the event move to Stromlo, only if the event is cancelled due to circumstances beyond the organisers control.
